5 hot spots to take photos in Amsterdam

Amsterdam, as a mysterious city in the Netherlands, is known for its beautiful canals, cookie-houses, and tulips. Once you are walking in the city center, it is challenging to keep the focus on photographing portraits while looking around at the original architecture. There are various reasons for it, but the main one is that everything seems so cute and attractive: small streets, canals, stairs. Therefore, I’d like to share with you several hot spots in Amsterdam to enjoy more your pictures afterward.

Spui

This place is just great to capture Amsterdam mood. The best time to take photos out there is during sunset. You can create a nice geometry lines with this wooden boardwalk, where you can sit enjoy the view. Or you might just stand and get a typical background with Dutch houses on your photos.

Red Light District (Old Town)

At first glance, you might think that this area is overcrowded. Yes, I do agree with you. But… Red Light District is full of hidden small streets with colorful doors. The combination of red and blue is always win-win for any outfit. You can sit on the stairs and hug each other. If you walk down to this district, you can see some doors might be decorated with beautiful flowers, little garden things on windows. Just look carefully… don’t pass it quickly ;)

Jordaan neighborhood

Jordaan is located behind the Anna Frank House. You might wonder why I like this area. The answer is quite simple. First of all, you can find lots of amazing views with canals and Dutch houses. Second of all, Jordaan is less crowded during the day. Additionally, you can visit small unusual fashion shops. As you can guess, this area is quite popular among fashion people and different artists.

Herengracht/ Keizersgracht

If you don’t want to go far away from the city center, then don’t miss a chance to walk down on famous Herengracht and Keizersgracht. Despite the canals and bridges, you can find lovely decorated streets. What I like the most about this spot is that it does not matter how well I planned my photoshoot road, I will always get off the road. I sneak into a small lovely street and then I forget about my plan. Trust me, you will always find something catchy in this city.

Vintage cars

Finally, besides hot spots in Amsterdam, bridges, bikes and brownish houses, you want to see something different in your pictures. As a perfect idea, you can meet a lot of old cars, which are still in a good condition, by the way. Those cars are a great attribute in your original photos. During my photoshoots, I constantly keep looking around and make sure that I don’t miss something interesting. I find it very important to change spots quite frequently. Why is that? It is important to know what is an occasion for a photoshoot, cultural differences and so on. Thus, you can choose a spot that fits best to the mood. Or… I might be a great help to you with creating unforgettable memories in Amsterdam.
